To Matte Or Not To Matte?

My fascination with nail polish probably started around 2 or 3 years ago. From purchasing discontinued polishes on ebay, or surfing the net for unknown brands, to standing in Sephora, ULTA, or even CVS for 30 minutes or more gazing at colors. This past Saturday, I noticed that one of my friend's had on a lovely matte yellow polish on her toes, which sparked my interest once again in matte colors. I use to be afraid of wearing bright colors on my fingers thinking that it wasn't "office appropriate", but since I mainly work from home and only go into the office when clients are on site, so it's ok (for me that is)...Instead of buying a matte polish, I decided on searching for a matte top coat that turns any shiny polish into a "matte-Link look". Yea, it's trendy, which I'm not big on trends, but I just think it's different. A few months ago, I read some mixed reviews on Sephora.com regarding a top coat by OPI, so I decided not to purchase. While out shopping on Saturday, I decided to pop into ULTA, so I asked a salesperson if they had any matte top coats, any brand.. "Matte About You", by Essie is a top seller so I went for it. Today is day 2 with the polish and so far no chipping. The color I have on in the pic is by L'Oreal Paris, "Now You Sea Me". Sorry Tarheel fans, it's not "Carolina Blue"...hahaha
